St. Thomas falls to Minnesota in midweek

Puder leads offense with two hits
MINNEAPOLIS, MINN.- The St. Thomas Tommies fell 12-1 in their final midweek match up with the Minnesota Gophers. Adam Puder led the Tommie offense with two hits.
Scoring Summary:
The Tommies got the scoring going in the first plating one when Lucas McNellis's sacrifice fly brought in Easton Fritcher, who doubled earlier in the inning. Minnesota then responded and took a 3-1 lead after plating three in the first.
Minnesota then plated three in the third to take a 6-1 lead. The Gophers then plated two more in the fourth to take an 8-1 lead. The Tommies threatened in the fifth by loading the bases but came up empty. Minnesota then scored one in the fifth, taking a 9-1 lead.
Minnesota then walked the game off on a three-run home run in the seventh, winning 12-1.

The Tommies will host conference leading Oral Roberts for a three-game series May 1-3.
