The Oles (8-8-2 overall, 7-2 MIAC) converted a breakaway goal by Andrew Anderson with 30 seconds left to snap a 2-2 tie. St. Olaf's Henrik Wood made 47 saves, and Jeff Harris scored two goals for the Oles.
The Tommies, who never led, got goals from Connor McBride and Alex Altenbernd to tie the score at 1-1 and 2-2.
Drew Fielding had 19 saves for UST, which took just its second home loss of the season.
The teams play again Saturday night in Northfield. In eight meetings over the last three seasons, the Toms have three ties and five one-goal decisions with St. Olaf.
