It's a special night for UST forward Riley Horgan (SR-Minnetrista/Mound-Westonka) as he plays before his family and a hometown crowd.

St. Thomas and Hamline play again in five weeks, with two conference games on Jan. 11-12. UST won all three meetings against Hamline last season, all one-goal margins, two in overtime.

Hamline has a young team under first-year Coach Doc DelCastillo. The Pipers won 49 games in three seasons from 2008-11, and went 10-14-2 last season. Four of this year's losses have come by two or fewer goals.

The Toms' Drew Fielding stopped 23 of 25 shots over two games last weekend as UST split a pair against Concordia-Moorhead. The Tommies share the conference lead at 5-1.

St. Thomas is allowing just 1.8 goals a game this season after surrendering a modest 2.3 goals a game last season. The Tommies have 29 goals scored by 15 different players. The team's last eight goals have come from eight different players.
