Women's Hockey season ends with 4-3 loss to Wildcats

The Tommie women's hockey team coudln't recover from an early hole and saw its season end with Thursday night's 4-3 loss to St. Catherine in the MIAC semifinal game In Inver Grove Heights.
The Tommies (14-10-3) had a streak of MIAC playoff title game trips end at seven.
The Wildcats (19-4-2) won their first postseason game in their 10-year history and will play in Saturday's final at top seed Gustavus, a 5-0 winner over St. Olaf. The Wildcats scored just 53 secods into the game and never trailed.
UST, which outshot the Wildcats 33-20, fell behind 3-0 and later 4-1 before scoring two third-period goals.
Seven players had a point for UST, including goals by Jenny Schnaible, Kristine Beese and Kelley Fallen.
MIAC Player of the Year Michaela Michaelson had a goal and an assist for the winners.
