Women's Hockey loses 1-0 at Bethel

Jess Newstrom had 47 saves in a shutout and a Sarah Kartak's early power-play stood up as host Bethel scored a 1-0 win over St. Thomas in Friday's MIAC women's hockey game in Blaine.
The teams play again at 2 p.m. Saturday in Mendota Heights.
UST's loss, St. Catherine's tie, and Gustavus' win creates a three-way tie for the MIAC lead atop the standings with five games to play.
St. Thomas (10-7-2 overall, 9-3-1 MIAC) went 0-for-7 on the power play. UST has been shutout twice in its last four games. Nicole Muske had 25 saves for the Tommies.
