What did you do this summer: I had a full-time internship at Best Buy Corporate in the Marketing department. This internship was eventful in many ways being an outstanding professional development experience as well as a fun way to network with peers from all over the country. As interns, we had group outings like Boat Cruises, Twins Games, and Volunteer events that really helped make this summer special. In my free time I enjoyed traveling to Duluth, visiting Des Moines, IA, playing basketball, participating in a kickball tournament, taking part in many slow-pitch softball games as well as hanging out with my friends, family, and lovely dog.
What have you enjoyed most about UST: Aside from the beautiful campus, I've really enjoyed the quality of education. My classes have all been worth-while in preparing me for my future. In addition, the professors really care about your education and you as an individual. I have yet to have a professor who didn't know my name, which is rare at other colleges. St. Thomas is also just filled with opportunities, resources, and amazing people.
What advice do you have for future Tommie Basketball players: There really are no days off. Working on basketball should be a year-round hustle. This not only includes on the court skills, though. It also involves taking care of your body off the court, making sure you're healthy and filling it with fuel instead of Doritos.
What is a club/group/activity/professional development outside of basketball at UST you are in, or is there something you would recommend to other Tommies: I am a part of the Sports Business club at St. Thomas. This is a club for business majors, or anyone interested in sports in general. We have speakers from different positions on Minnesota Sports teams come in and talk about their career paths and business experience. Some guests over the years include VP of Marketing from the Minnesota Vikings and CFO at the Minnesota Twins. It is a great way to develop/expand your network and learn more about working in the sports industry!
What is career ambition or dream job: I am a Marketing Management major. In the future, I would love to be a Creative Director or Creative Strategist--one who calls the shots in marketing campaigns, photo shoots, graphic design, advertising, etc.
What is on the top of your bucket list: Be a contestant on the Price is Right.
Who is your favorite athlete: LeBron James
