Reid Johnson
Reid Johnson joined St. Thomas in March 2024 as the Director of Football and Recruiting Operations. He plans and executes all team travel and also spearheads the team’s recruiting efforts. Additionally, Johnson serves as the team’s NFL Liaison.

During the 2023 season, Johnson was a Personnel & Recruiting Assistant at Syracuse University. He led special scouting projects for the Orange and also conducted research to improve future recruiting efforts. Syracuse reached the Boca Raton Bowl at the conclusion of the season.

In 2022, Johnson worked for the University of Minnesota Duluth football program as a Personnel & Recruiting Assistant. He was responsible for building the Bulldogs’ recruiting database, identifying under-recruited high school prospects in the Midwest, and evaluating JUCO (Junior College) prospects from across the country. He also helped coordinate official visits.

During the 2021 season, Johnson served as a Scouting & Recruiting Assistant for PJ Fleck and the Minnesota Gophers. Here he managed the team’s recruiting inbox, assisted with large-scale recruiting visits and prospect camps, and carried out community engagement events with the team’s Director of Player Development (Norries Wilson). Minnesota finished 9-4 and beat West Virginia in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl.

Prior to joining his alma mater (Minnesota), Johnson was a Scouting & Recruiting Intern at Concordia University St. Paul. Johnson supported the Golden Bears by evaluating prospects at positions of need, giving tours during recruiting visits, and creating promotional materials/graphics for the program.

Johnson got his start with SMB (St. Paul Academy/Minnehaha Academy/Blake High School) football during the 2020 season. He volunteered as a Film Analyst & Coaching Assistant for Head Coach Chris Goodwin and the reigning State Champion Wolfpack.

Johnson is a native of Duluth, Minnesota. He holds a Master’s Degree in Sports Management, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Design and Planning, both from the University of Minnesota.
