Stuart Borne enters his fifth season in 2020-21 as the Strength and Conditioning Coordinator through an extension of the partnership between Twin Cities Orthopedics (TCO) and the St. Thomas Athletic Department. Borne oversees speed, strength, conditioning, and agility training for all 22 Tommie varsity sports. 

Stuart brings experience in the areas of strength and conditioning, as well as athletic training. Borne has been a member of the team at TCO since 2014, serving as a strength and conditioning coach at the Eden Prairie Performance Clinic, as well as an assistant athletic trainer and performance coach at Augsburg College.  At Augsburg, Borne was the primary Sports Medicine contact for men's and women's soccer, men's basketball, and women's lacrosse.  

Prior to his time at TCO, Stuart was a certified athletic trainer and strength and conditioning coach at TRIA Orthopedics from 2012-2014.  During that time, Borne provided athletic training and strength and conditioning services to The Blake School. 

A native of Halstad, Minn., Stuart graduated from Minnesota State University, Moorhead in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training before completing his masters in Kinesiology at the University of Minnesota in 2012.  During his time as an undergrad, Borne interned with the Miami Dolphins in the summer of 2009. 

Borne currently resides in Mounds View, Minn., with his wife Katie and their son Charlie.
