2012 Season...One of the premiere collegiate players in the country solidified himself as one of the best all-around catchers in program history after being named to three Gold Glove teams in 2012. Named to ABCA All-Midwestern Gold Glove Team, MIAC All-Defensive Team and earned Rawlings Northwoods League Gold Glove Award. Possess outstanding all around ability, has one of the strongest throwing arms in the country to go along with excellent bat speed equipped with power and quickness from behind home plate. Returned as the Tommies everyday catcher in 2012 catching over 300 innings with just two passed balls while totaling 304 putouts in 360 defensive chances with 52 assists to go along with a .989 fielding percentage. Was among the top national leaders in gunning down attempted base stealers throwing out 17 in 35 chances (51%) while picking off a school record 9 runners on the bases. Threw-out more would be base stealers in a single season than any other UST catcher in the last fifteen years (Brady Field, 12 - 2010, Zach Goldberg, 10 - 2006) and has now gunned down 23 runners in his two-year career. Team captain was a key component in leading the Tommies to a school record 41 wins and a berth in the NCAA College World Series and runner-up to finish 3rd place nationally. Started 48 games behind the plate collecting 45 plus hits for the second season in a row with 4 homeruns, 32 rbi's, 68 total bases, 26 runs scored, 11 doubles, was a perfect 6-for-6 in stolen bases attempts and posted a .412 slugging percentage. On Opening Day 2012 had the game-winning two run walk-off double to complete the sweep of Midwestern rival St. Scholastica (2/27/12), collected homeruns at home against Carleton (4/24/12) and at Concordia (4/30/12), collected 17 hits, 2 homeruns, 11 rbi's, 27 total bases and boasted a .443 slugging percentage in MIAC contests leading UST to a conference record of 19-1. Broke out in post-season play batting .333 overall with two homeruns, 8 runs scored and 7 rbi's in the Tommies first ever four game sweep of the Midwestern Regional. Went 1-for-3 with a go-ahead two-run homerun versus defending regional champion UW-Whitewater (5/17/12) in game two of the regional. Went 3-for-5 with a 3-run homerun and collected career highs with 5 rbi's and 5 runs scored in 22-2 victory versus St. Scholastica (5/18/12). Was named to the Midwestern Regional All-Tournament Team. In two years has amassed 96 hits in 91 games while batting .319 with 64 RBI, 56 runs scored, 16 walks, 9 homeruns, two triples and collected 23 doubles. Played with the Wilmar Stingers of the Northwoods League. Enters the 2013 season as one of four Tommie team captains.

2011 Season...Outstanding all-around player who burst onto the scene as a freshman for the Tommies and emerged as the everyday starter behind home plate and cleanup hitter in 2011. Named MIAC "Freshman of the Year", 1st Team MIAC All-Conference Selection and ABCA All-Midwestern Regional nomination after one of the most impressive freshman seasons in school history. In 43 games batted .375 with 51 hits, 12 doubles, 2 triples, 5 homeruns, 32 rbi’s, 82 total bases, three stolen bases and 30 runs scored. Ended the MIAC tournament with a staggering .405 average and became the first Tommie freshman since 1980 to be selected to the MIAC All-Conference Team. Played three different positions in 2011 (1B, C, DH) and ended the spring as one of the best players in the country leading all freshman in total bases (82), slugging percentage (.603%) and on-base percentage (.417%). Posted a .995 fielding percentage from behind home plate where he threw-out eight attempted base stealers and totaled 27 assists and 195 putouts. Collected 14 multi-hit games, seven multi-rbi contests and tallied a nine game hitting streak throughout the first three weeks of April. Ranked in the top five in the MIAC in overall hitting, was particularly strong in conference games where he batted .393 with 24 hits, 2 homeruns, 17 rbi's, 37 total bases, 5 doubles and two stolen bases. Tied for second in the MIAC in slugging percentage (.607%). Led all MIAC catchers in fielding percentage in conference games with (1.000%) and had the least amount of passed balls amongst all starters (1 in 164.2 innings caught). Played with the Duluth Huskies of the Northwoods League. Enters the 2012 season as one of five Tommie team captains.

High School...2010 Eagan High School Graduate. In Football was a Two-Time All-Lake Conference performer, Two-Time All-State Selection and led the Wildcats in tackles. Two-Year Letter Winner for the Wildcats in Baseball. Was a Two-Time All-Lake Conference performer in Baseball and named All-State Coaches Associations All State Team (09, 10), Wildcat Rookie of the Year (2009), All Metro Selection, All State Pioneer Press Selection, Lions All Star Game Selection (Metro West). Batted .410 with 26 RBI’s as a junior and finished prep career hitting .396 in 92 at bats with 24 RBI’s, 5 home runs and only 1 strikeout as a senior. Was Two-Time Wildcat Most Valuable Player. Selected All District in American Legion, batted .413 with 9 homeruns, 22 doubles, 52 rbi's, 112 total bases, 11 stolen bases and scored 44 runs for the Eagan Patriots helping leading them to the 2010 American Legion State Tournament. 

Personal...Son of Dan and Cathy Dorgan...Majoring in Mathematics...Grandfather Tom Dorgan, Uncle Bill Dorgan and Bob Carlson, the current Archbishop of St. Louis, all attended the University of St. Thomas.
