2012 Season...Superb all around athlete who developed into one of the best overall players in the country as a sophomore for the Tommies locking down the everyday role as the starting right fielder and two-hole hitter. Former Division-I transfer is one of the best athletes in the program showcasing unlimited potential, flashes outstanding bat control with above average defensive capabilities. Finished freshman year with .328 average with 41 hits, 4 doubles, 1 triple, one homerun, 15 rbi's, 50 total bases, 28 runs scored, 12 walks was 4-for-5 in stolen bases attempts and posted .400 slugging percentage. Played all three outfield positions for St. Thomas in 2012 collecting 66 putouts, three assists and a .972 fielding percentage. Made collegiate debut on Opening Day 2012 (2/27/12) against St. Scholastica getting the nod in left field in game two collecting his first career hit and run scored in the Tom's 4-3 comeback victory. Early season action cut short due to injury. Returned to solidify the right field job in early April and finished the regular season with a .304 average in 20 MIAC contests collecting 14 hits and 12 runs scored. Emerged as one of the hottest players in the nation during postseason play hitting .410 after May with 21 hits, one homerun, 10 rbi's, 3 doubles, 1 triple and a .435 on-base percentage. Took over the role as the Tommies everyday center fielder and leadoff hitter after Ben Podobinski was injured in the opener of the Midwestern Regional, took advantage of his opportunity hitting .353 in regional play with six hits, four runs scored and three rbi's in four games helping lead the UST sweep. Broke out in the College World Series being named to the All-College World Series All Tournament Team after hitting .454 with ten hits leading UST to a third place finish in the 2012 Division III World Series. Among his team-leading 10 hits, he had three extra-base hits, two doubles, a triple and was 2-for-2 in stolen base attempts.
Transferred from Division-I Saint Louis University
High School...2010 Academy of Holy Angels Graduate. Three year varsity Letter Winner in Baseball at Holy Angels; member of three consecutive Missota Conference Championship teams. Selected Honorable Mention Missota All-Conference as a junior after batting .420 with a .532 on base percentage, on the mound registered a 3.29 ERA in 27 innings of work. Voted team captain as a senior and selected to 1st Team Missota All-Conference and All State Minnesota. Voted team MVP and Offensive Player of the Year as a senior, led the Stars with a .440 batting average, .523 on base percentage and 30 RBI's. Pitched in 54 innings and had a record of 7-0 with an ERA of 1.81. Also was a captain and two year Letter Winner for the Stars Football team at Holy Angels and three year Letter Winning point guard for the Holy Angels basketball team. Four Year Honor Roll Student and multi recipient of the Missota Conference Gold Award given for achieving a gpa of at least 3.5 or higher during an in-season sport.
