Tommies split Thursday double-header

11 running inning propels Tommies past Bison
ST. PAUL, MINN.- The St. Thomas Tommies split the series opening double-header against the North Dakota State Bison. The Tommies fell 5-1 in game one before the offense exploded to pick up a 16-6 victory.
Game One
The first four innings were scoreless for both the Tommies and the Bison. North Dakota State then plated four in the fifth, taking a 4-0 lead.
The Tommies responded in the sixth inning plating one. Matthew Maulik singled to bring in Joe Roder who doubled.
North Dakota then scored one run in the seventh to make the score 5-1.
Game Two
Game two was a windy one, and the Bison opened the scoring plating two in the first. The Tommies then responded with one in the first off a Joe Roder RBI.
North Dakota then took a 4-1 lead in the third before the Tommie offense exploded for 11 runs in the fourth to take a 12-4 lead.
St. Thomas tallied 11 runs on 11 hits in the inning, highlighted by an Adam Puder home run and an Owen Bond triple. Evan Raabe and Max Berrisford also doubled in the inning.
The Bison scored two in the fifth, making the score 12-6. The Tommies then played three in the sixth inning off a Joe Roder home run, making the score 15-6.
Zan Von Schlegell then walked off game two in the seventh in scoring Adam Puder from third.

The Tommies will continue the series against North Dakota State Friday, May 14th and Saturday, May 15th.
