Tommies fall in series finale

TULSA, OKLA.- The St. Thomas Tommies fall to the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles 11-3 in Sunday's series finale.

Tanner Recchio led the offense with two hits, one of which was a solo home run, his first of the season.

Scoring Summary:

The Tommies struck first plating a run in the top of the first inning. Adam Puder reached on a walk and came around to score on an RBI single from Owen Bond, giving the Purple a early 1-0 lead.

Oral Roberts responded by plating one run of their own in the bottom of the first, knotting the game at one. The Golden Eagles then plated six in the bottom second, four of which came via a grand slam.

St. Thomas plated their second run of the game in the third when Matthew Maulik's sacrifice fly scored Easton Fritcher from third. The Golden Eagles then responded by plating one of their own in the bottom of the third, making the score 8-2.

Tanner Recchio then hit a solo home run in the fifth for the Tommies third run of the game. Oral Roberts responded by scoring three in the home half of the inning, taking an 11-3 lead.

Up Next

The Tommies will be back in Minnesota to take on the Golden Gophers across the river at Siebert Field Wednesday, March 25th. St. Thomas will then play their first home series of the season March 27-29 against Omaha.
