Tommies fall to Mavericks Friday afternoon

Boerger tallies two points for the Purple

ST.PAUL, MIINN. - St. Thomas Women's Hockey (12-20-1, 7-19-1) fall 5-2 to the No. 15 Minnesota State (14-17-2, 8-17-2) on Friday afternoon. Ella Boerger was a bright spot for the Tommies tallying a goal and an assist. Rylee Bartz also scored a Tommie goal. 

Scoring Summary: 

First Period: Minnesota State struck first, but Rylee Bartz struck just 24 seconds later, knotting the game at one. It remained that way until four seconds left of the period when Ella Boerger netted the go ahead to give the Tommies a 2-1 lead into the break. Jenessa Gazdik, Ella Boerger, and Chloe Boreen chipped in assists in the first.  

Second Period: Minnesota State then knotted the game at two four minutes into the period. The score remained tied at two for the rest of the period. 

Third Period: Minnesota State tallied three goals in the third to take a 5-2 lead and eventual victory. 

Up Next 

The Tommies will be back on home ice for the final time of the 2025-26 season, Saturday, Feb. 21 to finish the series against the Mavericks. Puck drop is set for 2 p.m. but come out early to help us celebrate our senior class before the game.
