Nathan Pilling and Aaron Trotter earn CCHA weekly honors

Pilling’s second Rookie of the Week and Trotter’s fifth Goaltender of the Week
ST. PAUL, Minn. – The 15th ranked Tommies have won a program-best 10 games in a row and have now raked in a program-best 13 weekly awards from the CCHA office this season. Nathan Pilling (for the second time) and Aaron Trotter are the latest Toms to be named Rookie of the Week and Goaltender of the Week, respectively.
Nathan Pilling led the Tommies with three goals and five points during their weekend road sweep of Lake Superior State. He also led with 13 shots on goal and earned a rating of +4. He climbed above the 20-point mark and now sits with 23 on the season. It would be the best freshman season by a Tommie in program history if not for his linemate, Lucas Van Vliet's 29 points. Pilling heads into next weekend with an eight-game point streak.
Aaron Trotter came on in relief just under nine minutes into the Toms' game one win and stopped 20 of 21 shots to lead the Purple to a 7-4 win after falling behind 4-1. He got the start in game two and recorded his fourth career shutout with 24 saves in a 5-0 victory. The senior's weekend stat line was as follows: 2-0-0 record, 0.54 GAA, .978 SV%. Trotter leads the Tommies with a .924 SV% and 2.11 GAA this season and is the program's all-time leader in shutouts and wins (32). This weekly honor is the fifth for Trotter and first since Feb. 5, 2024.
