Parker leads Tommies to 2-1 victory over Lindenwood

Parker scores late in the third to push Tommies past Lions
MARYLAND, HEIGHTS, MO.- The Tommies came away with a 2-1 victory over the Lindenwood Lions to secure the series sweep.
Quick Hits
The Tommies and Lions battled it out once again in Saturday afternoon's match up. After a scoreless first period Lindenwood jumped out to an early 1-0 lead scoring just a minute into the second. Freshman Teagan Kulenkamp then tied the game 1-1, scoring the first goal of her Tommie career.
Scoring Summary:
First Period: Both squads had scoring opportunities in the first, but the period remained scoreless. The Tommies recorded 22 shots, twelve of which were on goal. Goalkeeper Julia Minotti tallied nine saves in the period to keep the Lions off the board. Both teams were called for two penalties a piece but neither could take advantage.
Second Period: Lindenwood broke the 0-0- tie by scoring one minute into the period. Freshman Teagan Kulenkamp scored the first goal of her career with 8 minutes remaining off a pass from Keara Parker.
Third Period: With just five minutes remaining in the contest Keara Parker broke the tie after a breaking away from the Lions defense and scoring off a pass from Rylee Bartz. This was Parkers second point of the day.
Top Tommies
Teagan Kulenkamp ( Lino Lakes, Minn. / Centennial) scored her first collegiate goal
Julia Minotti ( Lavel, Queb. / John Abbott College Islanders) tallied 26 saves.
Keara Parker ( Winnepeg, Mannitoba, Canada / Rink Hockey Academy Kelowana) recorded the game winning goal as well as an assist.
Up Next
The Tommies will be back on the ice Oct. 10-11 as they travel to Mankato to take on fellow WCHA opponent Minnesota State. This will be the first conference series of the year.
