Tommie Tidbits
-The Tommies are now 2-0-0 all-time against the Huskies with a goal differential of +6.
-This four-game home unbeaten streak is the longest in DI program history. They have a chance to defend it on September 30th against VMI (1-4-3).
-St. Thomas has matched its program-best win total from last season (4-10-2) in eight games with nine games still to play. They have not gone this deep into a season with just one loss in the DI era.
-Oliver Corris' goal 11 minutes into his Tommie debut is the quickest goal by a Tommie in their debut in program history. Oliver Bieleveldt scored in the 62nd minute of his Tommie debut against Cal Baptist in 2022 and John Bence scored in the 67th minute of his debut against Northern Illinois in 2024.
-This is the largest margin of victory for the Tommies in the DI era. Their largest win (five goals) since they beat Saint Mary's 7-0 on November 2nd of 2019.
-The last time the Toms won a game exactly 6-1 was in 2019 against St. Olaf on September 28th.
-It is also the first six-goal game in DI program history (no five goal games yet, and one four goal game).
-Giner's brace was the sixth in DI program history and Ireland's was the seventh.
Quoting Coach Lowery
"Really strong performance by the guys today. We had a real clear intent to be better with the ball in possession and to be more dangerous in the attack. We displayed responsible defending, keeping them away from us in the box. It was great to get Oliver (Corris) into the game; it was also huge for us to get Sidney (Kerr) back. It has been a group effort, and we are excited to start Summit League play. A huge thank you to our medical team and to Mac Ideson for getting our guys back healthy."
Up Next
The Toms open Summit League play on Saturday, September 27 at Omaha. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at Caniglia Field. The Tommies are 1-4-0 all-time against the Mavericks, without a win since 2021.
