SMITHFIELD, R.I. –St. Thomas volleyball extended its winning streak to a Division I-era best six matches following a 3-1 win over Stony Brook (25-19, 21-25, 25-15, 25-12) on Saturday to close out the Bryant Invitational. SCORING SUMMARY
Set One: The Tommies opened on a 5–0 run behind an Anya Schmidt kill, a Tezra Rudzitis finish, a Schmidt ace, an Addie Schmotzer kill, and a block assist from Rudzitis and Schmotzer. TOMMIE TIDBITS
·       The Tommies' six-match winning streak is the longest for the program during the Division I era. The previous streak of five wins came to end the non-conference schedule last season.
·       After going 7-29 through the program's first 13 non-conference tournaments of the Division I era, the Tommies have now gone 14-3 through the previous six tournaments dating back to Sept. 5, 2024. During that span, St. Thomas has gone a perfect 14-0 through five of those tournaments with the only losses coming at the Golden Gopher Invitational to start this season.
·       St. Thomas hit .331 from the floor with 75.0 total points and limited Stony Brook to .159 hitting with 48.0 total points. The Tommies totaled 11 service aces, led by freshman Anya Schmidt with a program Division I-era best 6, and 6 team blocks.

QUOTEABLES
Head Coach Thanh Pham's thoughts following the program's longest winning streak during Division I play
"It was a tough fought match with a well-coached Stony Brook team. We were able to take control of the match and get some well-deserved playing time for several of our reserves. Anya Schmidt set the tone for the day reeling off three straight high velocity serves. Ella Voegele was spectacular as tournament MVP with Megan Wetter and Morgan Kealy joining the all-tournament team. It was a great learning experience for our team as we head into the last pre-conference tournament."

UP NEXT
St. Thomas concludes its non-conference schedule Sept. 18-19 at the Northwestern Tournament in Evanston, Ill., first taking on the host Northwestern on Thursday and playing Campbell on Friday.
