Tommies earn first ever selections to regional teams after NCAA Tournament appearance

ST. PAUL, Minn. – St. Thomas volleyball's season of firsts continue as Tezra Rudzitis and Morgan Kealy were selected to the American Volleyball Coaches Association All-Region teams, a program first announced by the AVCA on Tuesday.
 
Kealy and Rudzitis were both selected to the Summit League All-Tournament team following a run to the program's first conference tournament championship during its first season of eligibility. The title run secured the program's first appearance in the NCAA Tournament, a 3-2 loss to No. 5 seed Iowa State in Minneapolis on Dec. 5.
 
Kealy, the 2025 Summit League Setter of the Year, ranks 40th nationally in assists per set and 27th in total assists while also appearing among national leaders in total digs. She finished as the Summit League leader in total assists and third in assists per set and was top 10 in service aces (10th) and digs per set (8th). The St. Thomas offense ranks 69th nationally in hitting percentage as four Tommies totaled at least 2.57 kills per set. Kealy recorded 19 double-doubles and delivered the league's only triple-double this season (41 assists, 12 digs, 11 kills) in a road win at Denver. She tied for the fourth-most assists in a Summit League match with 52 during a win over North Dakota State. A Summit League Peak Performer of the Week selection, she surpassed both 2,000 and 2,500 career assists and finishes the regular season as St. Thomas' Division I era career assists leader with 2,847.
 
Rudzitis, an All-Summit League First Team selection, ranks among the top 100 nationally in total kills and ended second in the Summit League in kills and fifth in kills per set. She is also fifth in the league in hitting percentage and seventh in points per set. During her senior season, Rudzitis became just the second Tommie of the Division I era to pass 1,000 career kills—finishing the regular season as the era's all-time leader and added 62 kills in the postseason to set the program's all-time mark at 1,096. A two-time Summit League Peak Performer of the Week, Rudzitis posted 21 double-digit kill performances, highlighted by a career-high 23 kills on .487 hitting in a win at Denver and a dominant 19 kills on .720 hitting in a sweep at Kansas City. She totaled 17 kills in the five-set Summit League semifinal win over South Dakota before adding 22 kills on a .327 percentage during the championship match win over South Dakota State.
 
The Tommie duo are two of six Summit League athletes selected to the AVCA All-Northwest Region team.
