TOP STORY LINES:
RECLASSIFICATION: St. Thomas and Lindenwood both completed the reclassification process this past summer and were instated as full Division I members. The Tommies became the first athletic department to successfully complete the jump directly from Division III to Division I and completed their reclassification a year earlier. The Lions successfully completed the transition from Division II to Division I, meaning both teams are eligible for the NCAA Tournament this year.
TOP-3 EXPECTATIONS: The Tommies are once again expected to earn a top-3 finish in the Pioneer Football League (PFL). In the preseason coaches poll, St. Thomas was picked to finish third behind San Diego and Drake, receiving 72 total votes and one first place vote. The Tommies have earned top-3 finishes in their first four years of Division I play.
