Head Coach, Jon Lowery, has lined up a competitive non-conference slate in addition to an always-strong Summit League schedule.

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Tommie men's soccer is looking to get off on the right foot in the now championship-eligible era of St. Thomas athletics. Coach Lowery and the Purple will play 17 games, six Summit League, 11 non-conference, eight at South Field, and nine on the road.

"This group is healthier than ever and has put in our most successful spring and summer training. This investment, with the experience we had last year, brings in a very motivated group that includes some new faces that I expect to make an immediate impact. We are more talented, better conditioned and look forward to the challenge," said Lowery about his 2025 squad.

After getting off to their best start in the DI era last season, the Tommies finished 4-10-2 with a 1-7-0 conference record, "this year we plan to sustain that (great start) through gained experience, conditioning, and the inclusion of some key pieces."

Tommie men's soccer opens the 2025 season with seven consecutive non-conference matchups from August 21 (at home against Presbyterian) through September 20 (at home against St. Cloud State) with match ups against Chicago State (Aug 24), Utah Tech (Aug 28), DePaul (Aug 31), Lindenwood (Sep 7), Northern Illinois (Sep 13), and Milwaukee (Sep 16).

Of the non-conference opening to 2025, the Toms host Presbyterian, Utah Tech, Milwaukee, and St. Cloud State with trips to Chicago State, DePaul, Lindenwood, and Northern Illinois. Presbyterian and Utah Tech are new additions to the slate, the Tommies are 6-4-3 in the DI era against the rest of their early-season schedule.

Two more non-con bouts are sandwiched around the start of Summit League play with a home game against Virginia Military Institute (Sep 30) and a road trip to the ACC's North Carolina Tar Heels (Oct 11). Both are novel opponents for the Purple. The game with North Carolina will be the first against an ACC opponent in program history.

Summit League competition begins on September 27 with a road game at Omaha, Coach Lowery said of the conference, "there's not an easy day for anyone within this league and it's going to be tight from top to bottom." The Toms are looking for their first win against Oral Roberts on October 4 at South Field. They are thrust right back onto the road with a tough head-to-head against the Kansas City Roos (Oct 18) who climbed into the national rankings last season. St. Thomas came out with the win last time against the then 22nd ranked Roos, "that night we closed the game and were fortunate to get the result, we went to the depth needed mentally and physically to win in this league."

Three days later, the Purple are back on the road against the Green Bay Phoenix of the Horizon League (Oct 21) before they return home to face a brand-new conference foe, UMass (Oct 25). When asked about the Summit League's new entrants (UMass and Delaware), Lowery said, "Both are well coached and quality sides. They bring an edge to the conference and fit right in with the style of play and physicality." St. Thomas plays the Blue Hens of Delaware in Newark (Nov 1).

2025's regular season schedule concludes with a home game against Denver (Nov 5) who advanced to the College Cup in 2024 before falling to the eventual national champion, Vermont Catamounts, in PKs.
