Tommies secure season series victory with win on Sunday
ST. PAUL, Minn. -- St. Thomas baseball hosted the North Dakota State Bison in the final home game of the 2025 season. In the series finale, St. Thomas (27-20 overall, 19-8 Summit) earned the weekend sweep, defeating North Dakota State (16-31 overall, 12-15 Summit) at Koch Diamond.
St. Thomas opened scoring in the series finale, posting a pair of runs in the second inning.
After a scoreless third frame, Matthew Maulik opened the fourth inning with a solo home run to left field. Joe Roder tallied an RBI-triple, followed by an RBI-double by Adam Puder to lift the Tommies to a three-run frame.
Holding the 5-0 advantage, St. Thomas extended its lead by scoring four runs across the sixth and seventh inning.
North Dakota State tallied its only runs of the contest in the eighth as the Tommies held the lead to complete the weekend sweep, defeating the Bison 9-2.
Matthew Maulik recorded three hits, three runs and three RBI against the Bison on Sunday. Joe Vos, Joe Roder and Adam Puder each recorded two hits, combining for four RBIs.
Walker Retz (5-1) totaled eight strikeouts, allowing two runs over 8.0 innings in the series finale.
