The Tommies have won eight games in a row for the second time this season
Game One Recap
The Tommies scored in the first inning for the fourth consecutive game with an offensive explosion of five runs right off the bat. Laken Lienhard and Avery Wukawitz teamed up for back-to-back doubles to begin the game and Cassidy Carby followed up with her eighth home run of the season.
Abbi Stierlen kept the train moving with a single to center field and then advanced to third on a Kameron Monson single. Adrianna Young doubled the pair home to complete the Toms' five-run outburst.
Christina Crawford pitched through some adversity in the first before she locked down the Phoenix the remainder of her time in the circle. She allowed a leadoff double followed by a walk in the bottom of the opening frame. The two runs scored on a wild pitch and a sacrifice fly.
Ella Cook followed up the five run first with a two-run home run to score Avery Wukawitz. The home run was Cook's fifth of the season and third in her last five games.
Neither team scored again before Cook came in to relieve Crawford in the bottom of the fifth inning. The Tommie starter pitched a line of 4IP, 2ER, 3H, 4BB, 5K in a winning effort.
St. Thomas added insurance runs in the sixth and seventh. Avery Wukawitz scored for the third time in the game on a Cassidy Carby single up the middle in the sixth. Ruby Moore then scored Grace Nosan on a single. Adrianna Young scored on a wild ball four to Laken Lienhard to put the Toms on top, 10-2.
Cook pitched a pristine line of 3IP, 0ER, 1H, 0BB, 5K. Cassidy Carby led the offensive effort going 3-4 with three RBI, one run, a double, and a home run. Avery Wukawitz came around to score three times, the third time she has done so this season. The Tommies scored 10 runs for the fifth time in 2025, a program record.
Game Two Recap
The latter half of the non-conference doubleheader was not much different for a dominant Tommie squad on Tuesday. They got on the board in the first inning again (fifth game in a row) with three runs on a pair of run scoring singles from Ella Cook (2 RBI) and Abbi Stierlen.
Cook started in the circle, allowed one run in the bottom of the second, and went three innings with four hits allowed and one strikeout. She earned her 11th win of the season.
St. Thomas broke the game open with five runs in the fourth and six runs in the fifth. Ruby Moore, Laken Lienhard, and Avery Wukawitz each singled home a run before Cassidy Carby earned an RBI on a groundout. Cook singled home Wukawitz for her third RBI of game two to put the Toms up, 8-1.
The Top of the Tommie order did more damage in the following inning with a Lienhard two-run single, a Carby one run single, and an Ella Cook three-run home run as the cherry on top. Cook's sixth home run and fourth in her last six games put the game away with the Tommies, 14-1.
Ava Kleinfeldt pitched two scoreless innings in relief with two strikeouts.
