Baseball falls in series opener at Austin Peay, 15-13

Vos totals three hits, four RBI in loss to Governors
Tanner Recchio opened the game with a leadoff double to center field. Advancing home on a sacrifice fly, Recchio put the Tommies on the board first in game one. The Tommies went up 3-0 early in the contest, however Austin Peay added three runs of its own in the bottom of the first to tie the game.
After a scoreless second, the Governors posted a five-run third to extend their lead. Responding quickly, St. Thomas recorded a five-run frame of its own just an inning later.
The tight ballgame was even at 9-9 after four frames. The Governors held a one-run lead after the sixth, adding to their lead through seven.
Down 15-12 headed into the final inning of the evening, the Tommies comeback bid fell just short. St. Thomas fell 15-13 on Friday evening.
Five Tommies posted multi-hit games, led by Max Moris (4-for-6), Joe Vos (3-for-6), and Tanner Recchio (3-for-5). Moris, Vos and Recchio combined for seven RBI.
