Tommies defeat the Fighting Hawks for first time in program history
MINNEAPOLIS -- The St. Thomas tennis team opened Summit League play, hosting North Dakota at InnerCity Tennis on Friday evening. With a 4-3 win over the Fighting Hawks, the Tommies earned their first victory against North Dakota in program history.
The duos of Marthe Degeorges and Regina Talavera (6-3), and Caroline Lindahl and Ingrid Forsberg (6-1) lifted the Tommies to the point in doubles action.
In singles play, Caroline Lindahl (6-4, 7-5), Jannah ElNemr (6-1, 7-6 (7-3)), and Shrichandrakala Tentu (7-6 (7-3), 6-2) each earned victories against the Fighting Hawks.
Degeorges and Lily Olson both played three sets in their singles battle, however ultimately fell to their North Dakota opponent.
