Summit League Championships begin Friday in Brookings, S.D.

St. Thomas to close indoor season Feb. 28 – March 1
ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The postseason and final St. Thomas meet of the indoor season begins Friday with the 2025 Summit League Track & Field Championships, hosted by South Dakota State in Brookings, S.D.
The meet starts Friday at 9:30 a.m. with the men's heptathlon, followed by the women's pentathlon at 10 a.m. Field events begin at 3 p.m. with the women's weight throw while running events start at 3:30 p.m. with the men's 3,000-meter run.
Saturday's events lead off with the conclusion of the men's heptathlon at 9:30 a.m., followed by field events (women's triple jump) at 11:30 a.m. and running events (men's mile run) at 1 p.m. The award ceremony is scheduled for 4:20 p.m. on Saturday to conclude the event.
The league championships will be streamed live on the Summit League Network HERE along with live results HERE.
To receive All-Summit League accolades, a student-athlete must finish in the top three in an event category at the league championship meet. The Tommies have combined for 10 all-league indoor honors since joining the Summit League in 2021-22.
2025 INDOOR SEASON RECAP
The Tommie men and women competed at nine meets through the indoor season, totaling 12 broken records and 66 top 10 marks set.
The women saw eight indoor program records set so far, including three by Olivia Keller (800m run, long jump, pentathlon), two by Danika Apple (60m dash, 200m dash), two by Rebecca Randleman (300m dash, 400m dash) and the 4x400m relay of Randleman, Hannah Cornelius, Hailey Hindt and Keller. In total , the women set 41 top 10 marks.
The men's program set four indoor records, including two from Mitchell Piehl (300m dash, 400m dash). Jack Rosner broke the program's 60m hurdles record during the most recent meet at the Snowshoe Open, running the program's first sub-8.0 time (7.95). The 4x400m relay of Piehl, Johnny Bezdicek, Rosner and Cameron Heppner set the record of 3:14.70 at the SDSU Indoor Classic, besting the previous time set in 2005 by nearly two seconds. In total, the men set 25 top 10 marks on the season.
