Alex Gaffney named CCHA Forward of the Month

Gaffney led all CCHA skaters with five goals and 11 points in October
ST. PAUL, Minn. – The CCHA released the first monthly honors of the season and, for the third month in a row, a Tommie was named Forward of the Month. Alex Gaffney became the third Tommie in three months (dating back to last season) to be honored with the award.
The Harvard transfer has made an instant impact with his new team adding 11 points and five goals in eight games during October. Both numbers led the entire conference. His three power play goals also led the CCHA.
Gaffney, a West Orange, N.J. native, added points in all but two of the Toms' eight games last month. He tallied multi-point games in three, including a career-high four-point performance against Air Force.
He is three points off his previous career high of 16 points, set back in 2022-23 with the Crimson. Gaffney became the fastest Tommie to 10+ points, doing so in just seven games to start the year, one fewer than Liam Malmquist last season.
This is Gaffney's second-career CCHA honor, he was named Forward of the Week on 10/20 after a five point weekend against the Falcons. He is T-32nd in the country with 0.67 goals per game, T-21st with 1.44 points per game, and T-10th with three power play goals.

The Tommies have this weekend off before they play a pair of games against two opponents on November 11th and 15th. First, they matchup with the St. Cloud State Huskies at 7:07 p.m. at Lee & Penny Anderson Arena and then they hit the road for one game in Sioux Falls against Augustana at 6:07 p.m. on Saturday.
