No.15 St. Thomas fall 4-2 in battle with the No. 5 Bulldogs

Hause and Boerger tally power play goals in loss
ST. PAUL MINN. - The No. 15 St. Thomas Tommies (8-8-0, 3-7-0) third period comeback was not enough as they fell 4-2 to the University of Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs (10-4-0, 6-4-0) 4-2 on Saturday afternoon.
Ella Boerger and Ellah Hause each tallied two points, one goal and one assist.
Scoring Summary:
First Period: The first period was a wild one on both sides as three total goals were scored. Two for the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs struck first scoring back-to-back goals within 40 seconds of each other taking a 2-0 lead. Ella Boerger got the Tommies on the board scoring during a power play. The Tommies 14th power play goal of the season.
Second Period: Duluth then added to their lead early in the second period, taking a 3-1 lead. The Tommies challenged that the Bulldogs were offsides, but the call stood.
Third Period: Ellah Hause made it a one-goal game scoring the second power play goal of the game off passes from Ella Boerger and Ilsa Lindaman. The Bulldogs then scored an empty net goal at the 18-minute mark to take a 4-2 lead.

The Tommies will hit the road to take on the reigning national champions and the No. 1 ranked Wisconsin Badgers on Thursday, Nov. 19 and Friday, Nov. 20. Puck drop is slated for 7 p.m. both days.
