Women’s Golf completes fall schedule in Kansas

The Tommies finished their fall slate with the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational
LAWRENCE, Kan. – Tommie Women's Golf competed at the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational hosted by the University of Kansas at Lawrence Country Club across two days this week. The finished in 13th place of the 14-team field. Amerlia Morton led the way in 37th place.
Scoring Summary
First Round
-Kathryn VanArragon got the tournament started on a positive note with a 72 (+1) to lead the Purple during the first 18.
-Morton and Emma Davies each carded 78's (+7). Claire Schweim's 81 (+10) was the final score recorded toward the team tally in the first. The freshman, Genevieve Birkeland, made an 82
Second Round
-Amelia Morton shaved four strokes off her first round score to lead the Tommies during the back half of the first day.
-VanArragon and Birkeland tied with 78's, Schweim made an 83 and Davies carded an 85.
Third Round
-Morton led on the final day with a 77 (+6) to finish in 37th place.
-Claire Schweim finished with the second best third round score at 78 (+7) followed by Davies (79), VanArragon (80), and Birkeland (81).
