Last Time Out

The Purple battled the Providence Friars to a series split. The Tommies fell 7-6 in overtime on Friday, before bouncing back for a 5-1 victory on Saturday.

In game one, the Tommies found themselves down 5-2 entering the third period. The Purple stormed back to take a 6-5 lead with 30 seconds remaining before the Friars tied the game at six at the end of regulation. Providence then scored the game-winner in overtime.

After a scoreless first period in game two, the Tommies tallied two in the second to go up 2-0 into the final 20 minutes. From there, the craziness of the third began. Providence tallied a goal to cut the deficit to one before the Tommies answered to seal the deal. Rylee Bartz scored her seventh goal of the season to put the Purple up 3-1, Nora Sauer then tallied an empty netter which was waved off as Ella Boerger had scored a few minutes earlier as shown in the review. Sauer then got a second chance off a pass from Ilsa Lindaman to put the Tommies up 5-1 .

Saturday's victory over Providence marked the first official victory in Lee & Penny Anderson Arena history.

In other historical notes, Teagan Kulenkamp scored the first Tommie Women's Hockey goal in Lee & Penny Anderson Arena.
