The Tommies held the one goal advantage up until the midpoint of the first frame as St. Cloud State tallied its first score of the match. Each team recorded two shots on goal during the first 45 minutes, heading into halftime knotted at 1-1.
Once again, the Purple took control early in the half. Faris Colic recorded his second goal of the season off a pass from Alejandro Giner and Jorge Perez in the 49th minute to put St. Thomas back in the lead.
After the Huskies once again found the equalizer, St. Thomas continued its no quit pressure, responding quickly to regain the lead. Jorge Perez recorded his first goal of the season and fourth point of the game, posting the game-winning goal to lift the Tommies to a 3-2 victory on Saturday afternoon.

"After the first week of classes as student-athletes, the team came out, scored three goals and earned the win. It was a good step for us to grow."
