Tommie Women’s Golf finished in second place as a team, behind a one-two finish at the top from Isabelle Lynch and Kathryn VanArragon.

OMAHA, Neb. – St. Thomas Women's Golf finished on the podium as a team for the fifth time this season, in second place, three strokes behind North Dakota State at the Stampede at the Creek. Isabelle Lynch put together a program-record tying performance to take down her first individual title. The junior finished one stroke in front of her freshman teammate Kathryn VanArragon

The individual one-two finish is the second of the season for the Tommies. Lynch's victory was the team's third individual tournament title of the season. With both Lynch and VanArragon finishing on the podium, the season tally climbs to eight individual podium finishes.

As a team, the Tommies dominated the par 4's with a combined tournament low of +48 for an average score of 4.27. VanArragon shot a -4 on the par 4's, a tournament best. Lynch's -1 on those holes was second lowest. The Purple tallied the second most pars (190) and tied for the most birdies (34) as a team.

Lynch climbed two spots from day one to day two with a 68 (-4) to tie VanArragon's program record set back on March 11th at the Jackrabbit Invitational. The junior made par or birdie on her first 17 holes before her only bogey on the 18th. Her 68 (-4) was a tournament low score by two strokes and added to an impressive 76 (+4) and 72 ( E) yesterday for a combined 216, an even score across 54 holes of golf.

Kathryn VanArragon finished the tournament with a 217 (+1), four strokes in front of third place finisher, Madi Hicks of NDSU. The freshman's third round 70 (-2) was tied with two other golfers for second-lowest single round score. It was her second round at or below par after her 72 ( E) to kick the tournament off yesterday. She put together a clean sheet on the front nine with eight parred holes and one birdie. Her back nine produced six pars, one bogey, and two birdies. Her second-place finish at the Stampede at the Creek is her fourth podium placement this season and second time as the runner up to a teammate.

Emma Davies helped the Tommies' climb toward first-place NDSU with a 14-place improvement in the standings following her 72 ( E) during the final round. The sophomore had a very balanced outing with a birdie and two bogeys on the front nine and two birdies and a bogey on the back. She improved five strokes on her first round and nine on her second. She finished shooting 77-81-72 for a 230 (+14) in a tie for 15th place.

Courtney Wedin fell eight places on day two with a 79 (+7) on round three. Her first-round eagle remained the only of the entire tournament. She shot a 74-81-79 for a 234 (+18) in a tie for 26th place.

Caroline Monty shot a 76-84-79 for a 239 (+23) in a tie for 37th place. Freshman Nicole Reineke rounded out the Tommies lineup with a 84-80-79 for a 243 (+27) in a tie for 45th place out of 64 competitors.
