Women’s Tennis falls in weekend matches in Omaha

Ma moves to 14-4 overall in singles for Purple this season, and currently ranks second in the Summit League in singles win percentage
Omaha, Neb. -- The St. Thomas women's team traveled to Omaha, Nebraska for a set of weekend matches against Omaha and Creighton. In a close Summit League battle, the Tommies fell in a one-point decision to the Mavericks.
After taking an early lead on Sunday morning against the Bluejays, St. Thomas was swept in singles action as Creighton claimed the 4-1 victory.
Match vs Omaha - L, 4-3
Omaha earned the point in doubles play, taking the early lead in Saturday's Summit League match up.
In the No. 4, 5, and 6 singles positions, Caroline Lindahl (6-3, 6-2), Yinong Ma (6-1, 6-2) and Shrichandrakala Tentu (6-3, 6-2) all won in straight sets.
Going into a third set in her No. 1 singles match, Marthe Degeorges claimed set one, 6-4. However, Adkins of Omaha flipped the script, coming up victorious in the next two sets to defeat Degeorges and clinch the match.
Ma moves to 14-4 overall in singles for Purple this season, and currently ranks second in the Summit League in singles win percentage.
This is the Tommies fourth Summit League match that has been decided by just one point.
Match vs Creighton – L, 4-1
In match two of the weekend, St. Thomas secured the doubles point. Yinong Ma and Olivia Paradise (7-5), and Marthe Degeorges and Shrichandrakala Tentu (6-1) helped the Tommies to claim to early lead against the Creighton Bluejays.
Creighton, however, collected four wins in singles play to top the Tommies 4-1 on Sunday afternoon.

St. Thomas travels Grand Forks, N.D. for its final match of the season.
