Women’s Golf heads into the final round in third place at Summit League Championship

The Tommies held serve on a tough day two of the Summit League Championship
MAYETTA, Kan. – The University of St. Thomas Women's Golf team maintained position on day two of the Summit League Championship meet in third place after 36 holes at Firekeeper Golf Course. The Tommies head into the final day of competition 18 strokes behind second place and one stroke in front of fourth place South Dakota State.
Nicole Reineke remained the Tommies' top finisher despite a difficult day on the course. The freshman finished the second round with an 81 (+9). Her 150 (+6) overall score has her in a tie for eighth place just two strokes out of the top-five.
Isabelle Lynch jumped up eight spots to 13th place with her team-best 77 (+5) on day two. The junior recovered after a double bogey on the first hole with three birdies on the front nine, but she ended the beginning of the round two strokes over par after a triple on the eighth hole. She managed one more birdie on the 11th.
Also climbing up eight places on the individual leaderboard was freshman Kathryn VanArragon. Her 155 (+11) across the first two rounds has her seated in a tie for 17th place. She shot one stroke higher than she did on day one.
Courtney Wedin did not move in the standings despite a round two five strokes higher than yesterday. Her 157 (+13) has her in a tie for 21st place. Emma Davies also marched up the leaderboards with a round higher than on day one. Her 80 (+8) combined with her 78 yesterday has her in 24th place.

Day three of the Summit League Championship in Mayetta, Kansas gets underway tomorrow as the Tommies attempt to surge up the individual and team leaderboards.
