RECAP
There were four goals scored in the opening period of the weekend series.
Nicole Vallario opened scoring, assisted by Keara Parker and Ilsa Lindaman, posting the Tommies' first goal of the evening midway through the first frame. Lindaman's assist marked her first collegiate point.
With two minutes to play in the period, Lindenwood tied the game at 1-1. However, St. Thomas quickly responded, scoring two goals in the final 90 seconds of play, sending the Tommies into the first intermission with a 3-1 lead.
Sadie Lindsay recorded her first in Purple as Maddie Brown tallied her team-leading sixth goal of the season to end the first period.
After a scoreless 15 minutes in the middle frame, Rylee Bartz extended the Tommies' lead to 4-1 off a pass from linemate, Chloe Boreen. Building on this momentum, Bartz sent a pass to Cara Sajevic who put the Toms' fifth goal of the contest past the Lindenwood goaltender with 12 seconds to go in the middle frame.
Dani Strom totaled 14 saves through 40 minutes, as Maggie Malecha entered the game for the Tommies for the final frame.
Lindenwood scored their second and final goal of the game with just over eight minutes to play, but the Tommies once again answered back. Seniors, Lauren Stenslie and Maddy Clough each added goal late in the final period, leading St. Thomas to a 7-2 victory on Thursday night.
