The Tommies are excited to announce their newest teammate, Morrison
ST. PAUL, Minn. – The St. Thomas Men's Soccer team is excited to announce its newest Tommie, Morrison (Moe) from Lakeville, Minn. Partnering with Team IMPACT, Moe joined at the beginning of the season before signing to become an official member of the St. Thomas Athletics family today.
Moe is an avid soccer fan who loves mascots, bugs and dinosaurs. A six-year-old from Lakeville, Moe was diagnosed with CTNNB1 syndrome at 18 months old. Moe lives life with an infectiously positive personality, as he is everyone's biggest cheerleader and always has a smile on his face. He fits perfectly within the team culture with his resiliency, strength, and positivity.
"Being a part of the University of St. Thomas Men's Soccer team has helped Morrison tremendously. He loves seeing the team at practice, in videos and on the field at games," Morrison's mother Alexis said. "He is motivated by his team when he struggles with therapy or school by saying 'I'll do it for the Tommies.' This group of young men has brought Morrison into their family and not only made him feel important, but also made him feel like a part of the something more. When appointments get long and we as a family need a boost, we pull up our Tommie videos and remind ourselves that we can be strong like them. His teammates have become some of Morrison's biggest role models."
Since joining Tommie Men's Soccer this season, Moe has been on South Field for games and practices. Moe joins the team during home games, walking out with the starting line-up onto the field.
"Moe has been a great addition to our team culture and fits in with our values of being resilient, positive and grateful. From the second he arrived he has been a bright light in our program, and we feel fortunate to be part of his support system. We are excited to officially sign Moe to our program" St. Thomas Head Coach Jon Lowery said on Moe's signing and the impact he has on the team.
