Women’s Golf signs one in-state golfer from Class of 2025

Genevieve Birkeland, a native of Pequot Lakes, will be joining the Tommies in the fall of 2025
ST. PAUL, Minn. – Tommie Women's Golf coach Katie Hanneman has announced the one signee for the year's first signing day from the Class of 2025. Genevieve Birkeland will join the St. Thomas program in the fall of 2025.
"We are so excited to welcome Genevieve to our program. Being a top player in our state with so much potential, I know she will be a great addition to our team!" shared Hanneman.
Genevieve is a Pequot Lakes, Minn. native and daughter of Robert and Jennifer Birkeland, she has one sibling, Tollef. She is a multi-time top 5 Minnesota state finisher at the high school level with a fifth-place finish in 2024 while competing for Pequot Lakes High School. She has also been named All-State and All-Conference two times. Birkeland was a section medalist in 2023 and 2024 and a section runner-up in 2022. She has been named to the honor roll every semester and is a member of the National Honor Society.
She will be joining a program on the rise that continues to set high-water marks every competition. The Tommies are currently in their winter break after ending the fall season on a high note with team and individual titles at the Tommie Invite in mid-October.
