The Tommies took a sixth-place team finish behind Lynch’s top 10 induvidual performance

LIBERTYVILLE, Ill. – Isabelle Lynch carded the lowest round of the season and tied her own program record with a 68 (-4) during round one on the first day. The senior bounced back from a frustrating second go around with a team-leading 72 (+2) for an eighth-place individual finish. The Tommies placed sixth as a team out of the 13 teams competing at the Loyola Parkinson Family Invitational at the Merit Club. Illinois State came out with the team title after a three-round score of 878 (+14), 13 strokes lower than second place. Omaha's Katie Ruge took the individual crown at one-stroke-under par.

Lynch's first round was one of the best of her career and the single best round of the tournament. She concluded the front-nine even with par and then caught fire on the back-nine with birdies on the 12th, 14th, 15th, and 18th hole. She finished five-strokes-over par during the second round and two-strokes-over par during the final round. Her 68-77-72—217 (+3) was enough for an eighth-place finish, one stroke outside the top five, and four strokes from the overall victor.

The Tommies' next-highest finisher was Emma Davies who climbed 14 spots up the leaderboard on the final day. She grew stronger with each round and finished tied for 32nd place with an 81-76-74—231 (+15). Her third round was the second-best on the team behind Lynch towards scoring for the final day.

Nicole Reineke finished one stroke behind Davies in 35th place with a score of 76-76-80—232 (+16) and Kathryn VanArragon finished one stroke shy of Reineke in 39th place with a 79-78-76—233 (+17). The Toms' final golfer, Amelia Morton finished in 44th place with a 78-74-83—235 (+19). The freshman led the way for the Purple during the second round with her 74 (+2).
