Men’s Soccer welcomes #12/7 Denver for Saturday match

The Tommies continue Summit League Play, host the Pioneers

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The St. Thomas men's soccer team continues Summit League Play hosting #12/7 Denver for a Saturday match. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26 at South Field.

Home Gameday Need to Know 
  • Admission to Tommie Men's Soccer is free all season long. 
  • Visitor Parking is available in the Anderson Parking Facility on South Campus.  
  • When navigating to the stadium from the Anderson Parking Facility please follow the posted signs directing you to the entrance. 
There will be no concessions available for the 2024 season. 
 
Head Coach Jon Lowery
Jon Lowery built a nationally-respected Division III soccer program with the Tommies last decade, and now he's busy in building mode in Division I.

The 2024 season marks Lowery's 13th season as a head coach for the Tommie Men's Soccer program. Lowery coached his 200th game with St. Thomas Men's Soccer in 2022 season is the longest tenured coach at his school among the Summit men's soccer coaches.
 
Lowery's 2023 squad earned a hard-fought victory over Chicago State in September, followed by an impressive shutout win against Milwaukee the following month. Ending the season on a high note, the Tommies secured a home win over Western Illinois to finish the 2023 season.
 
Making History
Last Saturday, the Tommies earned a 2-1 victory against the #22 Kansas City Roos. The victory marked the first regulation win against Kansas City and the first regulation win against a nationally ranked opponent in the DI-era.
 
Earning their fourth win of the season against the Roos, the Tommies set a program record of single-season wins in the DI-era.
 
Summit League Honors
St. Thomas Men's Soccer swept the Summit League weekly honors after defeating #22 Kansas City on the road last Saturday. Faris Colic collected Offensive Peak Performer of the Week as Moritz Krenc earned the Defensive Peak Performer accolade as announced by the league office.
  
Posting four of the Tommies' five shots on goal in Saturday's match, Colic scored twice in the Tommies' 2-1 victory over Kansas City. The senior leads the Tommie offense, scoring six goals and totaling 14 points through 12 games played this season.
 
Krenc tallied six saves against the Roos in Saturday's match to pick up his fourth win of the season. The Dusseldorf, Germany native leads Summit League goalkeepers, recording 70 saves in 13 matches.

This is the first weekly honor for both student athletes.
 
Tommie Seniors
  • In four seasons with St. Thomas, Faris Colic has played 2743 minutes, totaling 29 points, including 13 goals.
  • Charlie Holton has recorded four goals, two assists and 30 shots on goal in his four-year career with the Tommies
  • Playing in his fourth and final season in purple, Keegan James has posted two goals and two assists in 57 games played.
  • Oliver Bieleveldt has totaled eight points and 2032 minutes on the pitch in 29 games played for St. Thomas
  • Joining the Tommies for his final season of collegiate soccer, Vitus Voitl has recorded over 700 minutes in 10 games played. 

Summit League Leaders
Two Tommies rank in the top of multiple conference leader categories.
 
Totaling 70 saves so far this season, Moritz Krenc ranks first among Summit League goalkeepers in total saves, saves/game (5.38) and third in SV% (.707).
 
The previous record for saves made by a goalkeeper in a single season in the Tommies' DI-era was set by Tucker Mann in 2022 (59).
 
Faris Colic ranks third in shots on goal/game (1.33), fifth in goals (6) and fifth in points (14).
 
Recording an assist in the match against Lindenwood, Faris Colic has become the first Tommie in the DI-era to reach 10 points in a single season.
 
Scouting the Pioneers
Denver Men's Soccer is led by Jamie Franks in his 10th season as Denver's head men's soccer coach and his 13th with the program.

The Pioneers hold a 4-0-1 record against the Tommies, including 1-0-1 in St. Paul. Denver won the first meeting earlier between the two squads earlier this month by a score of 5-0.
