Tommies finish the first round in 10th place at 23 strokes over par

Des Moines, Iowa – Sophomore Owen Rexing (+5) led the way for the Tommies, and sits in a tie for 32nd place along with teammate Gavin Newkirk (+5) after the first round. St. Thomas rounds out the first 36 holes in 10th place out of the 13-team field.

Coach Matt Rachey's Tommies carded a collective score of 591 (+23) through the first two rounds and find themselves 15 strokes out of the top five heading into the final 18 holes.

William Frazier (76 +5 | 73 +2 | 149 +7), Matt Armstrong (76 +5 | 74 +3 | 150 +8), Glavine Schugel (77 +6 | 74 +3 | 151 +9) and Matthew Garside (81 +10 | 71 E | 152 +10) rounded out the Tommie lineup.
