St. Paul, Minn. -- Junior Taynian Walgrave broke a nine-year-old school record in the 100 hurdles at Wednesday's University of Minnesota Running on Hope Invitational.
Walgrave clocked 13.98 in the prelims of the 100 hurdles and took third place in 14.20 in the finals. That time bettered D-III national champ Mallory Burnham's 2014 record of 14.02 but was wind aided and thus Burnham's time remains the official school record. The time currently ranks sixth best in the Summit League.
On Friday at the Drake Relays, Walgrave joined Hannah Cornelius, Alexis Pratt and Cassia Cady to clock 46.95 and make the finals in the 4x100 relay prelims. That time is .30 of a second off a nine-year-old school record. The Toms run in the Drake 4x100 finals Saturday at 3:10 p.m.
Walgrave ran 14.32 in her 100 hurdles heat here Friday. Katie Nollette cleared 11-0 3-4 in the pole vault.
