Hebert, Schirmer sweep for St. Thomas men and Keller takes track performer of the week

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The opening weekend of the St. Thomas outdoor track & field season landed a trio of Summit League Peak Performer of the Week awards, the league office announced on Tuesday.

Freshman sprinter Sam Hebert and junior thrower Trever Schirmer swept the track and field peak performers of the week on the men's side while senior multi-athlete Olivia Keller won the track peak performer of the week. This is Keller's second career peak performer of the week award (one indoor award in 2025-26), while this is the first career honor for Hebert and Schirmer.

Hebert, from Chippewa Falls, Wis., recorded the program's second-fastest 400-meter dash to take 8th at the Clyde Hart Classic. His time of 47.40 leads the Summit League and is 12th in the NCAA Midwest while he also ran 22.03 in the 200m dash to rank third in the Summit League.

Schirmer, a native of Owatonna, Minn., threw the program's eighth-best discus to place second at the Clyde Hart Classic. His mark of 50.39m leads the Summit League and ranks 14th in the NCAA Midwest. Schirmer also placed third in the shot put with a toss of 16.01m, 2nd in the Summit and 18th in the Midwest, and took 10th in the hammer throw (45.18m) to rank 3rd in the Summit.

Keller, from Burnsville, Minn., broke the St. Thomas program record in the 800m run with three top-10 finishes at Clyde Hart Classic. She ran 2:07.38 to set the St. Thomas record, which leads the Summit League and ranks 5th in the NCAA Midwest. Keller placed sixth in the 400m hurdles in 1:02.96, 2nd in the Summit League and 12th in the NCAA Midwest. She was also active in the field, finishing ninth in the long jump with a mark of 5.74m, which ranks 2nd in the Summit League and 22nd in the NCAA Midwest.

St. Thomas outdoor track & field will be without competition through spring break before returning to action Saturday, April 11 with a trip to the Minnesota State Open hosted in Mankato, Minn.
