Pawley's Island, S.C. -- Sophomore Isabelle Lynch is tied for sixth place as St. Thomas Women's Golf completed the first of three days at the Golfweek/AGT Intercollegiate in Pawley's Island, S.C.
Through the first 18 holes, Lynch is one of six student-athletes to shoot 71 to trail three athletes tied for first at 2 under par. Lynch shot a birdie on hole 13 to offset a bogey on 10 before an eagle brought her score to 2 under par. Her score of 71 is one stroke shy of tying the program's Division I era best.
As a team, the Tommies are 14th of 17 teams with a score of 306. St. Thomas trails Marshall by two strokes and five teams tied in eighth by four strokes. James Madison holds the tournament lead at 1-above-par, 285.
Lauren Contreras, tied for 40th, is second for the Tommies with a 76 while Courtney Wedin, tied for 54th, shot a 78. Emma Davies is tied for 70th with an 81 and Caroline Monty is tied for 75th with an 82.
The Tommies are back in action Tuesday morning with day two of the three-day event.
