Swim & Dive opens Summit Championships with 200 medley relay records

St. Paul, Minn. -- Both the St. Thomas Swim & Dive men and women broke the program records in the 200 medley relay to begin the Summit League Championships Wednesday in Minneapolis, Minn.
The women's relay team of Libby Fischer, Grace Urkiel, Lily Linden, and Megan West set the new program standard with a time of 1:43.11, breaking the previous record set in 2015 by 0.03 seconds. The relay team finished fifth of eight teams in the conference race.
The men's relay team of AJ Carollo, Will Goldman, Philip Jensen, and Nicholas Salido also set the 200 medley relay record with a time of 1:30.31 to finish sixth against the Summit League teams. The time broke the previous record by 0.14, which was set in 2019.
The Tommies also swam the 800 medley relay as the women, including Elizabeth Bonneville, Ella Palmquist, Hanna Ryan, and Abby Larson, took sixth with a time of 7:47.52. The men's relay of Alex Foti, Casey McGrath, Blake Baertlein, and Luke Ridler took seventh with a time of 6:52.38.
The championships opened with the women's 1-meter dive, as St. Thomas' lone entry was Allison An who finished sixth with a score of 235.35, setting a new personal record.
After the first day, the Tommie women sit fifth with 67 points while the men are tied for sixth with 50 points. Day two of the championships begin Thursday with prelims at 10 a.m. followed by 5:30 p.m. The championships can be live streamed HERE and followed via live results HERE.
