Garside's 71 helps Men's Golf jump into eighth place

Lake Buena Vista, Fla. -- Matthew Garside shot one under-par 71 to lead Tommie Men's Golf in Monday's second round of the Mickey Mouse Invitational at the Disney complex.
Playing its first tourney since October, St. Thomas shot 289 on Monday -- the sixth best round of the day -- and climbed from 15th place into eighth place in a field of 16 teams. St. Thomas opened with a 300 score on Sunday.
Action concludes Tuesday with 18 holes.
Garside birdied five of his last 15 holes and sits at one-over par, tied for 18th out of 91 players in the field. His round of 71 tied for the day's 10th best score. It also tied for his second best round in two seasons with the Purple.
Matthew Armstrong and Owen Rexing each shot 72s. Armstrong had three birdies over his last 13 holes. Rexing had an eagle and three birdies over his last 14 holes.
Will Frazier shot 74 and is tied for 21st. He carded an eagle and four birdies over his last 14 holes
Wofford College leads the 16-team event by eight shots over IUPUI of Indianapolis.
