The Tommies were led by three arms in the circle:
- Isabelle True started two games and threw ten innings. She tallied five strikeouts and four walks allowing a 5.60 earned run average and 1.50 WHIP, batters hit .275 against the senior. True threw six innings and allowed just two earned-runs to lead the Tommies to their first victory of the season.
- Sophomore standout, Ella Cook, also started two games, and made three appearances. She pitched 12.1 innings to the tune of a 4.54 earned run average and 1.86 WHIP. Cook struck out eight batters and walked 10, opposing hitters mustered a .255 batting average.
- Keira Murphy made a good first impression in her first two collegiate appearances. The freshman pitched a complete game and allowed just three earned runs in a loss against Creighton on Saturday. Murphy got a second chance to face the Bluejays when she was called in to close the door with the lead in the top of the seventh on Sunday. With runners on second and third and no outs, she induced three outs in a row and secured her first career save. Overall, she threw seven innings allowing a 3.00 earned run average and 1.86 WHIP.
At the plate, three bats separated themselves from the rest of the lineup:
- Avery Wukawitz burst onto the scene for her first collegiate action and did not disappoint. The freshman started all five games in center field and slashed .455/.571/.545 with a double, two walks, and a hit-by-pitch. She reached base safely eight times in 11 official at-bats. Wukawitz did damage with her legs and glove as well, she stole two bases on two attempts and did not make an error on six total chances in the field.
- Katie Goelz became the first Tommie in DI-program history to record two triples in a single game and was the fourth to tally at least four RBI in one game. She slashed .455/.500/.909 in 11 at-bats with a double, two triples, and seven RBI in four games played.
- Last year's Summit League Freshman of the Year, Brooke Ellestad got out to a fast start with the bat again in 2023. The second-year slashed .375/.444/.563 in 16 at-bats with a homerun and three RBI. Ellestad's homerun was the first of the season for the Tommies and one of two on the weekend (Ella Cook). Brooke stole two bases in the win on Sunday, becoming the third Tommie to do so in a single game.
