Women’s Tennis finishes fall season with a doubles win at the Drake Invitational

DES MOINES, Iowa – The St. Thomas Women's Tennis team finished their final day of competition at the Drake Invitational on Sunday morning. The Tommies faced the Mizzou Tigers in singles play and Minnesota Golden Gophers in doubles on the third day of the invitational.

Two doubles pairing competed against the Gophers this morning. Freshman Caroline Lindahl and Senior Jannah ElNemr faced Emma Belluomini and Aiva Schmitz. ElNemr and Lindahl defeated the Gophers pairing 7-5 on Sunday.

Five Tommies competed in singles play against Mizzou on Sunday afternoon. Junior, Regina Talavera won the first set against the Tiger's Sophia McLellan, but ultimately fell to McLellan in three sets (6-3, 0-6, 4-6).

UP NEXT
The St. Thomas Women's Tennis team wrapped up their 2023 fall season. The Tommies take on Lindenwood and Marquette on Sunday, Jan. 21^st at home to kick off their spring season.
