St. Thomas’s wrap up Gopher Invitational on Sunday

Tommies go 10-9 in doubles and 9-12 in singles at Gopher Invitational
MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. - The St. Thomas Women's Tennis team wrapped up their first invitational of the 2025-26 season at the Gopher Invitational on Sunday.
Day One Recap
St. Thomas opened the invitational by going 5-2 in doubles play and 4-3 in singles.
Caroline Lindahl, Emilia Korseth, Anna Bjornestad and Anna Sidorenko all collected victories for the Tommies. Lindahl 6-1, 4-1 and Bjornestad 6-1, 6-2 over Northern Iowa, Korseth 7-5, 3-6, 10-5 over Minnesota, Sidorenko 6-4, 2-6, 10-8 over Drake.
In doubles Lily Olson and Else Vander Stichele were undeafted in doubles beating Marquette 6-2, and North Dakota 6-4. The pairing of Caroline Lindahl and Anna Sidorenko also defeated Marquette 6-3.
Alize Yarwood and Emilia Korseth defeated a Milwaukee pairing 6-4, Sidorenko and Mendoza defeated Northern Iowa 6-2.
Day Two Recap
The Tommies went 4-3 in doubles and 2-6 in singles.
Alize Yarwood and Emilia Korseth defeated a pair from Drake 7-5. The pairing of Lily Olson and Ingrid Forsberg collected a victory over Marquette 6-2 and 7-5 . Anna Sidorenko and Anna Brornestad defeated Northern Iowa 6-1.
Anna Sidoernko and Veronica Barber picked up singles victories for the Tommies. This victory marked the first in Barber's collegiate career.
Day Three Recap
St. Thomas capped off the invitational going 3-3 in singles and 1-4 in doubles.
Veronica Barber, Lily Olson, and Caroline Lindahl picked up singles victories.
The pairing of Lily Olson and Ingrid Forseberg were victorious over a Northern Iowa pairing 6-3.
QUOTEABLE
Coach Colby Carlson's thoughts on opening weekend We had a good weekend and start to the season. We competed hard and had some good results. Back to work this week to continue to improve.

The Tommies will host the University of Sioux Falls on October 12th.
