Women’s Hockey Drops Series Finale against Duluth, 4-0

Tommies Shutout by Bulldogs in Game Two of the weekend series
DULUTH, Minn. – The St. Thomas Women's Hockey team wrapped up their first road series of the season, falling 4-0 to Minnesota Duluth on Saturday afternoon.
RECAP
The Bulldogs got off to a fast start in game two, netting a goal just over five minutes into the first period. The remainder of the first period stayed scoreless, as Olivia King stopped 12 shots on goal through the first 20 minutes of play.
Second period action began as the Tommies added four shots on goal in the first 10 minutes of the period. However, the Tommies were sent to the penalty box midway through the second period. Shortly after the Tommies returned to full strength, the Bulldogs added their second of the night to make it a 2-0 game.
Three minutes after their second goal, Duluth extended their lead, 3-0. The final six minutes of the middle frame remained scoreless for both teams, as Olivia King totaled 18 saves through two periods.
The Bulldogs scored their fourth and final goal of the afternoon with six minutes remaining in the game, ultimately defeating the Tommies, 4-0.
Olivia King stopped 25 of 29 shots on Saturday afternoon, while the Tommie offense put 23 shots on goal, including 10 in the third period.

The St. Thomas Women's Hockey team is back in action Thursday, Nov. 9th as the Tommies face Minnesota State in the US Hockey Hall of Fame Game. The Hall of Fame Game will be a non-conference match-up, taking place at Maple Grove Ice Arena at 7:00 p.m.
