Aaron Trotter earns CCHA Goaltender of the Week after 42 save effort

The sophomore goaltender returned to his top form over the weekend by stopping 42 shots while allowing just one power play goal in the Tommies 4-1 win over Bowling Green.

ST. PAUL, MINN. – The University of St. Thomas Men's Hockey team (6-5-1, CCHA 4-2-0) have won a program-best four games in a row over the last two weekends. Aaron Trotter has been in net for two of the four wins and was an integral part of the 4-1 triumph against Bowling Green on Friday.
 
Trotter was named CCHA Goaltender of the Week for his 42 saves against the Falcons. The sophomore goalie propelled his team to victory despite being outshot 43-23. Only a power-play goal got by the second year netminder. 
 
He is the fifth Tommie to be awarded a CCHA weekly honor, joining Luke Manning, Liam Malmquist, Lucas Wahlin, and fellow goalie Jake Sibell
 
This is Trotter's fourth time being named Goaltender of the Week and fifth weekly award. 
 
The goalie tandem of Trotter and Sibell have now combined for a CCHA-leading 2.56 goals against average and second-best .907 save percentage.
