MENDOTA HEIGHTS, Minn. -- The St. Thomas Women's Hockey team finished their 10-game homestand against the Badgers on Saturday evening. The Tommies fell to No. 1 Wisconsin 3-0 in the series finale.

RECAP
In game two of the weekend series, the Badgers found a goal per period to lift them to a 3-0 victory over the Tommies.

First period action began with a penalty assessed to the Tommies, sending the Badgers on their first power play of the game. Wisconsin capitalized on this power play opportunity early in the opening frame, scoring the lone goal of the first period.

The Tommies put two shots on goal in the first 10 minutes of play, adding seven more in the last half of period one. Graduate student, Calla Frank made 10 saves for the Tommies, including shutting down a break away chance for the Badgers in the final minutes of period one.

The second period remained scoreless until the final minute of play, when Britta Curl extended the Badger's lead with 19 seconds remaining in the period.  The Tommies added five shots on goal, and Frank made 16 saves, bringing her total to 26 through two periods of play.

The Badgers scored their third and final goal of the game at the midpoint of the final frame, ultimately winning the game 3-0. Frank finished the game with her season-high of 39 saves.

In the series finale, the Tommies held Wisconsin to just three goals, after the Badgers averaged eight goals per game coming into the weekend.

QUOTABLES
Coach Johnson on tonight's game against the Badgers:

"I thought we battled and competed and I was really impressed, with the back-to-back Friday, Saturday opponent being the number one team in the country. To see that we defended well both Friday and Saturday, that's really what I'd like to focus on. We know we need to defend well and get great goaltending, and we got it in both games."
